A couple of weekends ago I spent the day up a Parker Ridge. With spring, temps were warm and by 8 o clock we were on the skin track. It was sopped in and foggy, which made it both mystical- and hot! Being a K-country skier, I tend to spend more time in the trees, thus going into the alpine again was a treat! The scenery along the way was spectacular with the fog hanging around the precipitous mountains covered in snow.
We skied fast and hard until the clouds rolled away and the sun was punching into the earth, and even then we skied a bit more. By lunch the heat was intense and we took once last lap to the car, sat down in the trunk, poured a bowl of cheerios, and looked at our tracks with glee.
